The Department of Theatre invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Sustainable Performance Design and Technology. We are seeking candidates who will help establish the department as a leader in the emerging disciplines of sustainable performance practice and theory, through teaching and research that supports the field of performance — and the broader sociopolitical milieux — in transitioning towards the ideals of zero waste and carbon net neutrality.
Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate critical, collaborative, and intersectional approaches to sustainable performance design that complement the department’s engagement with Concordia University’s EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) initiatives, and whose teaching draws on decolonial and/or anti-racist approaches.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate level, to participate in the development of graduate studies in the Performing Arts, and, potentially, to supervise graduate students in Concordia’s interdisciplinary programs. Other responsibilities include program stewardship as well as active involvement in committee and administrative work at the department and faculty level.
