PSi Artistic Research Working Group: Summer Session
Part of PSi Constellate 2021
7 – 9 July / 12:00 UTC

The PSi Artistic Research Working Group offers an open invitation to all members of PSi for its Summer 2021 meeting: “Perform / Respond / Extend.” Over three intense days, 22 participants from around the globe will engage in an event that is part experiment, part exchange, and part game. On Day 1, each participant will ‘perform’ — that is, offer a short showcase/presentation of a current artistic research project. On Day 2, each participant will respond to one of the Day 1 presentations, using the methods and media of their own artistic practice. And on Day 3, each participant will extend the work of one of the Day 2 participants—producing an archivable object of some sort for future dissemination. Each participant will have only the time between the daily sessions to create their responses and extensions, and the event design foregrounds spontaneous, intuitive, and embodied exchange.

Observers are invited to join all or any of the three days, each of which will last 4 – 5 hours (with a one hour break midway). There will be opportunities to ask questions, and a full set of abstracts will be made available.

All PSi members interested in observing any part of Perform / Respond / Extend can find registration information in the ARWG page of the PSi Constellate online program.

PSi has a pay-what-you-can membership option for 2021. Membership details can be found here.

We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be an animated and enlightening three days.
