Please share news of this terrific opportunity widely. The University of Calgary is recruiting a tenure-stream research position in Indigenous Knowledges, Arts, and Practices as part of the University’s Transdisciplinary Research and Scholarship initiative. The successful candidate will be an artist or artist-scholar who can bring a research-creation approach centred in Indigenous Epistemologies. This tenure-track position will have significantly reduced teaching responsibilities and be supported with a generous research stipend in its first five years. The selection criteria are flexible and include recognition of community-based and professional experience and engagement and will privilege those who express an interest in engaging in a transdisciplinary approach with substantial societal and community engagement. The position will hold shared affiliation with the School of Creative and Performing Arts (Dance, Drama, and Music), the Department of English, the Department of Art and Art History, and the International Indigenous Studies Program. The “home” unit will be determined by the particular expertise of the successful candidate.

The deadline for applications is March 31st. Full details can be found on the UCalgary Careers site (search for “Indigenous Epistemologies”).

Questions about the position can be sent to the Director of the School of Creative and Performing Arts, Bruce Barton (scpaDirector@ucalgary.ca).
