Description: The Department of Theatre Arts at Baylor University is seeking a full-time, permanent Lecturer of Costume Design and Technology to join our faculty starting August 2024.

We seek candidates with a demonstrated ability to teach courses in sewing (introductory and advanced), costume crafts, costume design, and drawing/rendering for theatre design. The ideal candidate will also possess advanced skills in costume construction, draping and patterning, and tailoring. The position includes the opportunity to design. The Lecturer will also mentor undergraduate students in all costume design and technology areas. The Lecturer will provide support for costume builds related to our departmental productions. The Lecturer will work alongside our current tenure-track faculty member in Costume Design and Technology, the full-time Costume Shop Manager, and the Assistant Costume Shop Manager. The entire costume team is dedicated to excellent teaching and student mentoring.

Qualifications:
(1) A terminal degree (e.g., MFA) in Costume Technology, Design, or a related field is required— Costume design experience is required.
(2) Two years of professional theatre experience is preferred.
(3) University teaching experience preferred.
