AADK Spain in collaboration with Creative Body Institute invites applications for spring and summer residencies structured around SITE SPECIFIC performance and artistic research ON DURATION

SITE SPECIFIC
Spain | 1-3 month residencies take place between 1 March – 30 June
Site-Specific is a practice-led research residency that takes place in Spain’s Ricote Valley, where the Segura River winds through pine-covered mountains and semi-desert lands shaped by centuries of ecological and cultural flux. The residency is supportive of experimental work across live art, performance art, dance, body art, social practice, theatre/performance making, conceptual art, sound art and artistic research. We are particularly interested in proposals that engage with our unique landscape which holds ancient migrations, agricultural intensity, and a coexistence between human and more than human ecologies. We welcome artists who wish to work not simply in site, but with it.
Performance makers, artists, and artistic researchers can apply to participate in the residency for one, two, or three month periods during the months of March, April, May, and June (starting dates are always on the 1st of each month).

ON DURATION

A dedicated residency for artists and researchers working with duration in significant and evocative ways.
ON DURATION was conceived and founded by durational performance artist and scholar Dr. Raegan Truax as a platform that supports artists to engage in creative research and site responsive public praxis. Now in its third year taking over AADK’s living and studio spaces in the belly of a mountain, the ON DURATION residency brings together a curated intergenerational and international group of artists who each work with duration in radically different ways.
Individuals and collectives can apply to participate in the residency for one month or a two-month period during the months of July, August & September (starting dates are always on the 1st of each month).
