Future Advisory Board

The Future Advisory Board (FAB) is a new PSi initiative that aims to bring together graduate students and early career scholars and artists worldwide, and increase visibility of the diversity of Performance Studies.

The FAB represents new generations of Performance Studies emerging in different ways at different places. The FAB advises the PSi board both with regard to the interests of emerging scholars and artists, and with regard to the future of the field as new generations see this. To this end, the FAB initiates projects (both online and at conferences) that demonstrate this diversity and contribute to the further development of Performance Studies in ways that acknowledge this diversity.

FAB was officially inaugurated at the University of Melbourne during PSi #22, where they presented an interactive installation, and hosted conversations on the Futures of Performance Studies. They have also recently published in the inaugural issue of Global Performance Studies and have launched a summer school at PSi#23 Hamburg.

Current members of FAB include Felipe Cervera (National University of Singapore), Shawn Chua (independent artist and scholar), Panayiota Demetriou (Bath Spa University), Areum Jeong (UCLA), Eero Laine (University at Buffalo, SUNY), Azadeh Sharifi (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München), Evelyn Wan (Utrecht University), and Asher Warren (University of Melbourne).
