SITUATIONS VACANT
65. Two Postdoctoral Vacancies on Arts Council Project, Victoria & Albert Museum, UK
Apologies for cross postings, but I would like to draw attention to two new posts currently being advertised on the V&A website:
http://www.peoplebank.com/pbank/owa/vam.vacancies
Please pass on these details to any suitable candidates.
Applications are invited for two Post-doctoral Research Associates to research and catalogue the new writing, regional and touring strands of the Arts Council of Great Britain archive held at the Victoria & Albert Museum collections centre at Kensington Olympia. The posts are funded by the AHRC for a three year period and offer an exciting opportunity to research a rich and under-explored area of post-war British theatre. The project team consists of Dr Kate Dorney (V&A Theatre Collections), Dr Graham Saunders and Professor John Bull (University of Reading).
The first year of the post will be spent surveying and cataloguing the new writing, regional and touring strands of the Arts Council archive, enhancing the areas of the existing electronic catalogue and assessing the material within the archive in relation to Freedom of Information legislation (full training will be provided). In the second and third years, you will undertake and publish your own research on the areas defined by the project as well as conduct interviews with former Arts Council staff and panel members and assist in the planning of symposia and related public events.
Informal enquiries should be directed to me (k.dorney@vam.ac.uk) and/or Graham Saunders (g.saunders@reading.ac.uk)
Thanks,
Kate
