Sharon Mazer: "Like a native peoples,
PSi has probably more originary stories than one might expect.
If you ask Lisa Wolford or me (and I think Moe Meyer), the beginning
was on a floor outside the elevators in Atlanta at ATHE in 1992
or 1993 (I think) where we discussed the apparent negative attitude
of ATHE toward PS-ers. As a result of that conversation, I was
given the task of setting up PERFORM-L, and we decided to make
a focus group with an eye to the possible development of a separate
organization. At ATHE in 1994 we had the first PS focus group
panels, and a meeting (Lisa was also there) where we discussed
the possibility of making a separate conference."
